What kind of questions does the doctor ask when getting birth control pills?

I am going to be going to the doctor sometime this summer to get put on birth control. What kind of questions do they ask once you say you are getting the pill to prevent pregnancy? I know there are different reasons to go on birth control, I just want to know what questions they ask after saying it is to prevent pregnancy.

They check your health to try to make sure theres no risks. Usually this involves a bit of history, blood pressure checks and asking about allergies. There are a range of pills and a range of strengths, so usually they’ll try to find the one that is a best match to your weight and age.
If the pill is solely for birth control then a good doctor should also discuss your options. There are heaps of choices such as patches, injections, the IUD or inserted rings. Personally I recommend the IUD as the best option, its cheap, it lasts for upto 5 years and unlike the pill you can’t forget to take it or have it effected by other things (alcohol, illness, anti-biotics etc).
