Bushwick is the next Williamsburg. It’s the new up and coming hot spot. Soon, the lofts there will be as expensive as a place in Manhattan – just like Williamsburg. It’s quickly changing from an industrial area to an artsy, scenester town. In a few years it’ll be packed, expensive & trendy.

Some areas become "gentrified" very quickly and some don’t. Any area that has brownstones seem to become extremely popular. Boerum Hill turned around and became very high end within a very few years, despite the projects. Smith Street is the new restaurant row. Red Hook, Clinton Hill and Fort Green are still trying, but housing prices have certainly risen. So I guess you just take your chances if your hoping the neighborhood will become gentrified. The only difference I see between Boerum Hill and the other neighborhoods is the convenience to Manhattan and it’s proximity to Cobble Hill and Brooklyn Heights.
